Report of the 31st Ucla International Kir Exchange

چکیده

For the 31st KIR Exchange, 4 DNA samples (KDNA#121-124) were shipped to participating laboratories on May 8, 2013. A total of 68 laboratories submitted their KIR typing results. The majority of the laboratories used either commercial or in-house developed sequence-specific primer (SSP) based PCR and sequence-specific oligonucleotide probe (SSOP) typing systems. The results for the 31st KIR Exchange are summarized in Table 1 and individual laboratory results reported for each DNA sample are provided in Tables 2-5. Subtyping results for KIR2DL3, 2DL5, 3DL1, 2DS1, 2DS3, 2DS4, and 3DP1 loci were reported by some laboratories. The subtypes for 2DS4 and 3DP1 are denoted as FULL or DEL. The positive/negative assignments for all 4 DNA samples were reported without any discrepancy for 8 of the 16 tested KIR loci (KIR2DL2, 2DL4, 2DL5, 3DL1, 3DL2, 3DL3, 2DS2, and 2DS3). Discrepant results from the consensus typing are italicized in tables 1-5, and described in the summation for each sample. Discrepancies at the allele level are not italicized. Participants are encouraged to resolve the discrepancies so that the information can be shared to develop reliable KIR typing systems. We thank you for your continued participation in the UCLA KIR Exchange program.

REPORT OF THE 22nd UCLA INTERNATIONAL KIR EXCHANGE

For the 22nd KIR Exchange, 4 DNA samples (KDNA#85-88) were shipped to each laboratory on March 10, 2010. Fifty-nine laboratories submitted their KIR typing results. The majority of the laboratories used either commercial or in-house developed sequence-specific primer (SSP) based PCR typing systems, and others used sequence-specific oligonucleotide probing (SSOP) method. The results for the 22nd...

Killer Cell Immunoglobulin-Like Receptors Influence the Innate and Adaptive Immune Responses

Natural killer (NK) cells are a subset of lymphocytes which play a crucial role in early innate immune response against infection and tumor transformation. Furthermore, they secrete interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) prompting adaptive immu-nity. NK cells distinguish the unhealthy cells from the healthy ones through an array of cell-surface receptors. Human NK cells use inhibi...

مقایسه آنالیز ژنوتیپی KIR/HLA در جمعیت‌های لر و ایرانی

Introduction: Killer-cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptors (KIR) are the members of inhibitory and activating receptors expressed chiefly by the natural killer cells (NK). KIR proteins operate as receptors detecting human leukocyte antigen class Ι molecules (HLA). KIRs and their class Ι HLA ligands contribute in the pathogenesis of many kinds of diseases. The aim of this study was to genotypic ana...

KIR Gene Content Does Not Contribute to Susceptibility to Graves’ Disease

Background: Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR) are expressed on NK cells and a subset of T cells. The variable KIR receptors along with their ligands, HLA class I, influence risk for autoimmune and malignant diseases. Objective: To investigate the KIR gene profiles in relation to susceptibility to Graves’ disease in patients with ophthalmopathy. Methods: KIR genes profiles were ana...
